Magician Malcolm Russell began his career as an entertainer after a lengthy - some would say yet unfinished - and pleasantly odd childhood. In his early years he focused first on his skills as a juggler and object manipulator, entertaining at festivals and on streets, before working with physical comedy and improvisation.

An unhealthy habit of having breakfast with neighbourhood clowns sowed the seeds of an interest in close-up magic, which for more than a decade now has formed the basis for his work.

In 1995 he left his adopted homeland of Canada and moved overseas, living in Poland and Japan while continuing to develop his  skills, his shows and his style.

At least that's what he calls them.

 In 1999 he moved back to the UK, just in time for the new millennium, making his home in Orkney, a set of islands off the north-east tip of Scotland. During this time he also became the first magician ever to perform magic on every inhabited island in Scotland - all 107 of them.

In 2007 he returned to Alberta, Canada, and now serves the Calgary area, entertaining at weddings, corporate events, private parties, community events and anywhere that quality magic is required.

When not performing at events around Canada and the UK he spends his time singing to sheep, rifling through strangers' handbags and growing sprouts.
